Pottawattamie Bowhunters Meeting
Fish & Game Club
Present: Kurt & Denita
VanWyk, Roger Bowen, Mick & Elaine Brown, Matt Allen, Steve &
Steven Sears.
Discussion on set up and range
condition for the first shoot March 1st. There will
be a work party Saturday, February 21. Meet for breakfast at HyVee
North 16th at 7:30 am or at the range at 8:30 am. Shoot
set up will be Saturday February 28. Same arrangements, HyVee
at 7:30 or at the range at 8:30 am. Shoot is Sunday, March 1st.
Kurt & Denita will do the concessions on a trial basis and if all
goes well, they might do it for the rest of the year! Matt Allen
will start registration at 8:00 am and Elaine & Mick will relieve
him at 10:00 am. Elaine will compile the results. Roger
will check on score cards.
Other clubs may be interested
in purchasing more target butts from the outlet in Missouri. Would
like to find someone willing to make a road trip to pick up more targets.

Recognized the following for their “firsts”: Elaine & Denita,
spring turkeys; Kurt & Denita, bears; David Lewis & Mike Boner,
whitetail bucks; Shaun & Steven, antelopes. Nominated for
Bowhunter of the Year: Dave Lewis, cow chasing; Steve Sears, 4 wheeler
parking; Kurt, turkey hunting mishaps; Shaun, antelope adventures; Jay,
various archery mishaps; Roger & Jamie, the “too” friendly family;
Ned, the 5 iron underwear coon adventure. The proud winner of
the turkey foot award this year is Shaun!! Recognized for his
hard work, Roger Bowen was presented the Harold Sears Memorial Award.
Still need to get some scores so the Big Buck Award can be presented.
